The much-anticipated NDA and PM Modi's council of ministers took oath with the President. The same faces in the ministerial cabinet have been retained. It starts with Amit Shah as Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh as Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman as Finance Minister, Nitin Gadkari as Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar as Foreign Minister, Piyush Goyal as Commerce Minister, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia as Minister of Communications and Minister of North Eastern Development, Kiren Rijiju as Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri as Minister of Petroleum and Gas, and Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya as Minister of Labour and Employment and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The new substitutes who performed well in the election have also been inducted into the cabinet with major portfolios. Jagat Prakash Nadda, who was the BJP's party president, has been given key ministries like the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is a key figure for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh and delivered a clean sweep in MP, has been given the crucial positions of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Ministry of Rural Development. Manohar Lal, who was Gujarat BJP chief, has been given important ministries like the Ministry of Home and Urban Affairs and the Ministry of Power. H. D. Kumaraswamy from Karnataka has also secured a key position as Minister of Heavy Industries and Minister of Steel.
However, it is noteworthy that there are no Christians or Muslims in the cabinet, resulting in a lack of religious diversity.
